Erica Beck


General Counsel


Erica Beck joined New Orleans Public Belt Railroad as General Counsel. As General Counsel, she oversees the Safety & Training Department, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Risk Management and Claims, Real Estate, Contracts and Procurement, Litigation and all other legal affairs for the Public Belt Railroad. 

Erica is a New Orleans native who attended Ben Franklin High School. She graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. In 2005, she graduated magna cum laude from Loyola Law School, where she was also a member of the Loyola Law Review.  

After law school, Erica clerked for Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Catherine "Kitty" Kimball from 2005 to 2007. She then practiced law in the business and litigation section at Jones Walker from 2007 to 2010.

Erica joined the New Orleans City Attorney's office in 2010 and was promoted to Chief Deputy City Attorney the following year. She was appointed Executive Counsel to Mayor Mitch Landrieu in 2013 and served in this capacity until she joined the Public Belt Railroad.
