NOPB celebrates 100 years of service and looks to the future
In 2008, the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad will be celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of its operation in the New Orleans area. Our Centennial Celebration festivities will include recognition of the refurbished main facility at 4822 Tchoupitoulas Street, New Orleans, Louisiana slated for completion in July 2007. The project was designed by Wink Companies, LLC, Architects – Engineers – Surveyors, New Orleans, Louisiana and consists of the following:

Site improvements; including a new brick column/steel rail and picket perimeter fence, sidewalk, parking lots, landscaping, irrigation and site lighting.

Restoration of existing buildings including masonry restoration and re-roofing.

New 2,700 sq. ft. load bearing masonry Records Storage Building.

Painting and modifications to the Main Office Building.

New glazing system (including “storefront” windows) at the existing buildings.
The project was publicly bid and was awarded to the low bid Louisiana licensed general contractor, Donahue Favret Contractors, Inc., Mandeville, Louisiana. Construction is slated to begin in mid January 2007.
