How To Get Started – Placing a Railcar Order
Placing an order is easy but we will need general data about where you plan to send your cargo. First, phone us at 1+(504)896-7400 or contact us via email. However, it might help to refer to the items below so you can better understand the information we will need.
We are going to ask you the following questions:
- Your Name and Contact Info
- Shipping Point (i.e. stevedore, warehouse where railcar will be loaded)
- Shipper (i.e. likely this is you)
- Freight Forwarder (if any)
- Vessel Name and ETA in order to ensure an on-time delivery of the empty railcars to the loading point
- Consignee
- C/O Party is the railcar going to a third party warehouse or another receiver that is not the consignee?
- Rail Destination Station name of receiver's rail station. If not known, receiver name and address will help
- Commodity specific name of commodity to be transported i.e. cold rolled steel coils, aluminum ingots, etc.
- Railcar Type this can be distinguished by the commodity. If you are not sure, we will assist you and find the best option
- Amount of Cars if not known, providing packing list or similar will help us determine how many needed
