Before the Rubber can meet the road, rely on NOPB to get it to you.Rubber is one of the major cargoes handled at the Port of New Orleans. In fact, New Orleans imports more rubber than any other port in North America. The majority of this cargo moves to well-known manufacturers of tires. Most tire manufacturing facilities have direct rail connections and are able to accept boxcar delivery of natural rubber. This is where NOPB comes into play, as we play a major role in the inland transport of rubber and are a crucial part of these companies' supply chains. NOPB knows rubber and how it should be efficiently and safely loaded and cost-effectively transported to final destination. We also have a large supply of boxcars at our disposition to ensure we are always meeting the demands of our shippers.
New Orleans is and will always be an essential port for the importation of natural rubber. NOPB's continual ability to exceed shippers' expectations will only solidify the crucial role the Port plays in tire manufacturers' supply chains.
